Thanks to Elizabeth and others who considered this mystery. Yes! Information on both Mark Anthony Bozon Jr. (1766-1846) and Mark Anthony Bozon Sr. (1743-1808) can be found on the internet and in databases such as FamilySearch and Ancestry.com. Mark Anthony Bozon Jr. did die in France and apparently had a second wife and one daughter there. I have obtained copies of the relevant wills but family origins are still elusive. A Francis Bozen, pawnbroker, is listed at Plymouth Dock in the 1791 and 1794 Universal British Directory of Trade next to Mark Anthony Bozen Sr, navy agent. One would expect that they might be brothers. I really need a burial record or some other Devon clue. The family started out Non-Conformist or possibly even Jewish. If any Devon list members come across the BOZON name in the future I sure would appreciate hearing from you. Dave in Canada
Hi Dave I assume that you have searched under BOYSON and other surname spellings.
