    3. Mary - I am seeking a John ANTLE (or variously ANTEL, ANTILL, etc) who is said to have been from Devon and who settled in Brigus, Newfoundland between 1800-1825. I think he came over with his family as a young man or child. I think his father was also named John and another common family male given name was Stephen. I have been told several times that ANTLE is far more a Dorset name than Devon and I agree, but perhaps he is the oddity, or perhaps this Dorset family sailed out from Devon for some reason. In any event, to make my link back to either Devon or Dorset, I need to start with where they sailed from. If perhaps you would run into the ANTLE (or various) name in your work with Teignmouth, I would appreciate hearing about it. Regards - Glen C. I am part of a small research group working with Teignmouth Museum looking at fishermen and boat owners who fished in the Grand Banks, maybe emigrated to Newfoundland and were from Teignmouth so am very interested. I have no date at the moment to go to the Devon Heritage Centre (new title of DRO) but next time i go I will look this up or one of my colleagues may do so. I'll be in touch again then thanks again Mary in Torquay
