    3. Tim, More helpful indeed! I do not have access to FindMyPast, so I appreciate your checking it. I never would have thought of "Salima" instead of "Salome" (though in retrospect, it's not that far off). Looks the Ancestry's name algorithm, which is generally too loose, wasn't loose enough in this case. I will be sure to go to Ancestry's version of the 1841 and 1851 Censuses. But it's beginning to look like husband John SLEEMAN might have died early (or at least before 1841) and that if John Rockey SLEEMAN was really John and Salome SLEEMAN's son, he wasn't living with his mother in 1841. Thanks again. I cannot find Salome SLEEMAN in the 1841 Census, but FreeBMD includes a Salome SLEEMAN who died Apr-May-Jun 1848 in Plymouth registration district (9 248). John and Salome SLEEMAN are possibly the parents of James Rockey SLEEMAN, executor of the will of James ROCKEY, of Blackrock, Cork, Ireland in 1865. (No relationship specified.) The James R. SLEEMAN enumerated in the 1851 Census at Sheepstor, aged 38, may be James Rockey SLEEMAN and may be a son of John and Salome SLEEMAN, and perhaps named for the father of Salome ROCKEY. There was a James ROCKEY in Plymouth in 1802, who is possibly the father of Salome ROCKEY. Lots of "maybes" and "possiblys," which is why I am seeking the assistance of s.k.s. on this list. >> >> David Langenberg >> Newark, Delaware, USA >> > > ------------------------------------------ > The DEVON-L mailing list is co-sponsored by GENUKI/Devon > ( http://genuki.cs.ncl.ac.uk/DEV/ ) > and > the Devon FHS (http://www.devonfhs.org.uk/ ) > List archive for Devon can be found at http://archiver.rootsweb.ancestry.com/th/index/DEVON/ > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to DEVON-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message
