Hello, Devon-listers My Devon great-great-great-grandparents arrived in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada, in 1832. They settled in Kings County, New Brunswick. Here's what I believe I know, but supporting documentation would be most welcome. John CHOWN, baptized 07 Aug 1803 in Sidbury, Devon (Genuki?). I have his parents as Robert CHOWN and Jane WARREN. And Mary CARSLAKE, b. 05 Apr 1807 in Sidbury (England Births and Christenings 1538-1975) I have her parents as Richard CARSLAKE and Elizabeth (Betty) WICKER / WHECKER / WHICKER John CHOWN and Mary CARSLAKE were married on 06 May 1825 in Saint Paul, Exeter, Devon (Pallot's Marriage index for England, 1780-1837) Their son James CHOWN was born in Devon in 1831, and they went on to have six more children in Canada. I am descended from their son John CARSLAKE CHOWN, born 28 Apr 1834, in New Brunswick, Canada. It would be great to connect with anyone who is researching these surnames (including variant spellings). Thanks! Lynda Muir Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
