According to the DRO, the registers were in good condition in the late 1990s when I had the transcriptions done. As to name variations, that has caused me some grief over the years. It also caused the DRO to have conniptions, but they did finally get them all, er at least they said they did. > Richard Hagley of Tiverton clothier speaks > of him being an old and an aged man . and he wishes to be buried in > Tiverton. We have all the wills from Devon that were in Worthy's Wills and Oswyn Murray's transcriptions as well as those from the PCC and the Bank of England. There are others, but I can't remember the sources. > > Message: 3 > Date: Sun, 8 Jan 2017 15:47:57 +0000 > From: Terry Leaman <[email protected]> > To: [email protected] > Subject: Re: [DEV] Rollcall: MELHUISH > Message-ID: <[email protected]> > Content-Type: text/plain; charset="windows-1252"; format=flowed > > Washfield registers have been filmed and are on FMP- the early ones look > to be in quite good condition. > > Terry To Terry & Paul. Thanks for that. My memory was still thinking of Familysearch as the CoE didn't allow them to be transcribed by the Church of Latter Day Saints. I had a look and a lot is missing. Most of the marriages are missing as are burials around 1600. Some useful stuff was there however. And condition does look good. Thank you all kindly, Keith Jeffery
