Hi Martin GENUKI indicates that DRO has St Sidwell registers from1569 (not1659) so I do not think there is a controversy on the point you mention. My initial enquiry was made on the Somerset list and a subscriber on there has now confirmed that the 1653 St Sidwell Pasco was a *daughter* of Roger. She was probably the Pascall Herniman who married John Stephens in 1680 at St Sidwell. In any case she can be eliminated from my enquiries and I need to pursue the matter in Somerset. Thank you for your interest. As far as I can tell, the only such record of that baptism is the same transcription in FamilySearch, Ancestry and FMP. Neither PRs in FMP nor BTs in FS Catalog contain St Sidwell baptisms as early as 1653, so there are no images online from which to read "son of Roger" or "daughter of Roger". GENUKI Devon says the DRO has St Sidwell registers from 1659 onwards, that the IGI has baptisms from 1659, and that the DFHS members'-only area has images from 1659. That makes me wonder from where did FamilySearch microfilm the 1653 baptism and why is it not in their online Catalog: Citing this Record -- "England Births and Christenings, 1538-1975," database, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:J3X9-6XH : 30 December 2014, Pasco Hornaman, 11 Sep 1653); citing SAINT SIDWELL,EXETER,DEVON,ENGLAND, index based upon data collected by the Genealogical Society of Utah, Salt Lake City; FHL microfilm 916,839.
