Thanks Bev, I see that these are wills for 1858 onwards. My Devon related interest is in the Irish wife of Sargeant Simon Cockran of Silverton. After his death at Waterloo in 1815 it seems that she remained in England, living in Bristol in the 1820s with her second husband Thomas EDWARDS (an engineer) and then London. On the occasion of her third marriage, in 1849, she described her father as James Cosgrave, gentleman, deceased. So I am looking for an Irish gentleman named James COSGRAVE, probably a Roman Catholic, probably in County Cork in Ireland before 1849.
