    3. Yes please do migrate this list to Groups.io. I'm in a few Yahoo groups that did so a few months ago and I'm finding that I like the Groups.io interface. My DEVINE ancestor (Mary or Maria, who married David Bailey of Clark County Ohio in the mid-1800's) remains a mysterious lady so I will follow this list where it goes. Thank you, V. 2. Jim Jackson
    3. This has been received from the Rootsweb administration: Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state. Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb. As an alternative to RootsWeb Mailing Lists, Ancestry message boards are a great option to network with others in the genealogy community. Message boards are available for free with an Ancestry registered account. Thank you for being part of the RootsWeb family and contributing to this community. Sincerely, The RootsWeb team We are presently setting up email groups at https://groups.io/. If there is interest in migrating this list to groups.io please respond to this message to that effect ASAP. With heavy hearts, Jim and Di

    1. [DEVINE-CLAN] Help Keep This List Active
    2. Jim Jackson
    3. We just wanted to encourage you all to make use of this list in your family searches. A large number of Rootsweb lists have been made inactive due to no messages over a period of time. We want to keep as many lists active as we possibly can and your participation will help toward that goal. If you have a "brick wall" in your family search, send in a message with as much information as you have and let's see if someone may be able to help fill in those blanks. Best wishes, Jim and Di

    2. Diane, the only Devine activity I've seen lately has been through the Devine maillist at RootWeb, and that has been very limited, even with messages to the Devine bulletin board portaled through. When anyone needs help, they have those avenues open, as well as this list. 1. [DEVINE-CLAN] My John Devine Grandfather
    2. Louise
    3. Hi All, I wonder if anyone has any information about my grandfather John DEVINE b. 1901 Glasgow. His father was Joseph DEVINE b. 1870 who was the son of Bernard DEVINE b. approx 1843 Ireland and Susan BOYLE b. approx 1844 Lanark. His mother was Mary GALLACHER b. 1869. Joseph Devine's second wife was Mary Alice BARNES. John Joseph DEVINE married Doris HILL 1924 in New South Wales Australia. I believe he married a second time in 1939, Ellen Johanna LEAKE only this time he gave his middle name as Patrick. Patrick was also given as his middle name on his father's death certificate. I have searched for many years trying to discover where and when John Devine died. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers, Louise.
