HI, first time on this list I think. Hopefully English is not too much of a problem. J I am currently looking into my wife's tree and I am at the point now where I need some assistance. Her 3xg grandfather is Johann Ludwig KRUGER b1817 (Stendell), d1878 (Aus). Johann's wife was Dorothea Christine KASELOW B1819 (Stendell) d1898 (Aus). I have Johann's parents but I can't seem to find Dorothea's. I believe it may be Henriette FLEISCHFRESSER, hopefully spelt correctly. By the looks of things Henriette must have had Dorothea before she married Mr Carl FLEISCHFRESSER as Henriette KASELOW but I can't be certain. I am also interested in one Carl Wilhelm Ferdinand HARTFIEL b1840 (Passow), d1920 (Aus). I have a fair bit on him and his family but I can't for the life of me find how he got to Australia. He doesn't appear (or I just can't find him) on the immigration lists into Queensland. Carl is my wife's 2xg grandfather. He married Johann KRUGER's daughter Ernstine in 1866. Help with any of these would be great. Regards Phil..... Sunshine Coast, Qld, Aus.
My gt gt gt grandfather Gottfried Zander is listed in the Brandenburg Archives in connection with custody of illegitimate Zander children if I read the following correctly: Vormundschaftsacta der Freiherrlich von Arnimschen Patrimonialgerichte des Ländchens Bärwalde wegen der unehelichen Zanderschen Kinder zu Wiepersdorf, Vormund Büdner Gottfried Zander und Gerichtsdiener Stoltenhayn. I have electronic copies of the proceedings but am unable to decipher the old German script, let alone translate it. If anyone is able to look at a page or two at least, Id be most grateful. Many thanks Ed Zanders Cambridge UK
We have hit a brick wall in our Family Tree. What we know: Carl Friedrich Wilhelm Seidler, S/O; of Carl Friedrich Wilhelm Seidler & Friederike Louise Maria Weidemann(whom we have nothing but their name) was born June 5, 1844 & baptized June 16, 1844 at Sanct Sabinen Parish in Prenzlau. One baptism sponsor was Ferdinand Weidemann of Dedelow. Church records show nothing further on this "particular" Seidler Family. Many surrounding towns were checked & still nothing. Cannot trace this Ferdinand Weidemann-to many to trace without knowing his relationship to Carl's mother & his age. Our Carl left Germany via Bremen & Southampton England aboard the Arago in Oct of 1868. Another Seidler family was aboard same ship as him-traced that family to Illinois-but can make no connection. In January of 1869 he married at Shawano County, WI -marriage record lists no witnesses-only of Prenzlau & parents names. He has no Naturalization Papers even though USA Census shows he was Naturalized. No Probate or Will. No Seidler or Weidemann were sponsors to his children bapt. or marriage. Carl died in County of marriage. Tax records show nothing-land records show nothing. Naturalization lists little & no Declaration of Intent has been found. Thought maybe the Bremen location for the Ship Lists might give additional info on Carl, but no address to write to. Any other ideas anyone can think of where to write for more info on Carl? Thank you, Kathy
