Linda, I don't think there has been Ortenau action over the past few days because this list is on a Rootsweb "working" server, Lists2 so we should be receiving its mail....it is Lists5 which is down and according to the Rootsweb Help site as of today, no date has been determined as to when that server and its various Lists may be back in business. Wendelin had sent a message to the Ortenau list several days ago "explaining" in Rootsweb terms as to how to determine which server each of your various lists is on. The message came from Rootsweb and it looked more confusing but it actually worked. I checked a couple of currently inactive lists and found Lists5 as the answer. I will copy that most of that message below. djweber [email protected] ---------------------------- > Hi list administrators, > > The server LISTS5 is off-line with respect to sending and > distributing mail, and it will be so **at least** for another couple > of days. Thanks, I am on BADEN-WURTTEMBERG list and with a large membership I usually get lots of mail, but I havent' gotten anything. It is on Lists5. OK, then it's not bellsouth's firewall, they have a way of blocking some things that are opt in, and was just making sure I was still on the lists. Linda
DJ, I don't know what you meant by your 2nd paragraph as I never received that message from Wendenlin, through the Ortenau List, as you described. Was that only suppose to be for certain people? I also haven't been receiving any mail from ANY of my Lists. How do you know whether you are on Lists2, Lists3, Lists5, or whatever? ..... except that you just said Ortenau was Lists2? Normally, if things are too quiet with my Lists, I head for the archives to see if anything has come in (though this week has been an exception!).
