Hello---My Grandfather's family came from Ottenhoefen, Baden, Germany. They were MICHAEL and MARIA ANNA SCHWEIGLER GAISER (1844-1905) my Grandfather, MICHAEL and his younger brother JOSEPH emigrated to Utica, New York in 1883 and 1890. The ship manifest said "to meet family in Utica, NY" There were many Germans who settled in that area but as yet I can't find who they went there to meet. Michael was 17 yrs. at the time. Their siblings all remained in Ottenhofen and I have recently obtained a list of Gaisers listed in the current phone book for that town. I picked one of the 13 listed and wrote a letter inquiring about ancestors. My Father's Mother's family came from Baden (?town) and emigrated to Syracuse, New York, where there was also a large German population. They arrived In Syracuse around 1850-1860. Some of their names were-DISSEL, HOFFMAN, ECKERMAN, THOMASMEYER. Any info on any of these relatives would be appreciated. Thanks, Toni Walier McCarthy
