I have an additional link which really does not fit into the Ortenau search but it pertains to the work of some German emigrants after their arrival in the United States. I have not listed this site at the Search location but there is various information about the times after the 1848 revolution, about the German attitudes and life in the United States and the site is interesting reading. Perhaps the only exact connection is one individual who emigrated from Achern to Milwaukee.
