(Probably my inability to know how to search Rootsweb.) The Lexicon (Zedlers Großes Universallexicon) is explained in detail (in English) at < http://www.hab.de/forschung/projekte/zedler-e.htm > which is a site of the Herzog August Bibliothek at Wolfenbüttel. Within that English language explanation the URLs of < http://mdz.bib-bvb.de/digbib/lexika/zedler > and < http://www.zedler-lexikon.de > are identified _ BUT_ I would not recommend this Lexicon source unless you have an excellent knowledge of the German language. In my own playing with the Lexicon the URL < http://mdz10.bib-bvb.de/~zedler/zedler2007/index.html > seemed to be a sufficient lead-in.
