Hello Wendelin: I am searching Ancestry.com for any Nussbach clues for your IRSLINGERs. While doing that - I found other records. I wonder: is your surname IRSLINGER rare? I found an IRSLINGER emigrated from Offenburg to US. Then, ten IRSLINGERs are found in Brooklyn, Kings Co NY census records from 1900 to 1930. My Josef SCHNEIDER from Offenburg emigrated and settled in Brooklyn circa 1866, If these Brooklyn NY (Offenburg emigrant) IRSLINGERs are of interest to you, just let me know and I will send details - Best, Arlene: Baden, Germany Emigration Index, 1866-1911 about Karl Irslinger Name: Karl Irslinger Place of Origin (Town, District, Province): Niederschopfheim, Offenburg, Baden Year Emigrated: 1882 ----- Original Message ----- From: "Wendelin Irslinger" <genealogy@babbalu.com> To: <deu-bad-ortenau@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, February 10, 2008 8:06 AM Subject: [Ortenau] Bottenau Hello! Reading the history book of Bottenau "Die dreyherrschaftliche Gemeind Bottenau" I read my surname on page 134. It says that Jerg Irslinger rented a farm in Bottenau in 1793, apparently in Maisenbühl (Meisenbühl). I am wondering if he was really an Irslinger or a mistake in writing or reading. Meisenbühl belongs to the parish Nußbach. Question: Have the parish records of Nußbach a Familienbuch or at least an index of names? Perhaps someone has rented the records of Nußbach? Hello Arlene, yes luckily my surname is rare so it's not so difficult to research all. Some Irslingers emigrated to the US (and some of them lived in Brooklyn) but it seems only 2 or 3 have living descendants. Irslingers in the US answered my letters so I have some information about their ancestors. And I think I have all information from Ancestry.com incl. census records. The only problem are the Irslingers who have no living descendants (in Brooklyn and especially in Philadelphia). Census records have answered some questions but not all. - Wendelin On Sun, 10 Feb 2008 09:14:28 -0800 "Arlene" <agoff@surewest.net> wrote: > Hello Wendelin: > I am searching Ancestry.com for any Nussbach clues for your > IRSLINGERs.
