Actually Pat, while I have your attention, do you have anything in the Kippenheimweiler book on a Thomas Hertenstein, Bürger there. He was married to an Anna Graff. I don't know his birth date, but he is the father of Johann Sebastian Hertenstein, born in the year 1677, the husband of Johanna Arnold *1684 in H'zell. Hello again Darrel, Yes, I have information on this fellow. And.....we are related to him! So if he is related to you....we are cousins! :-) Let's see what I have...... Thomas Hertenstein was born/bpt 31 March 1651 in Kippenheimweiler. He died there on 19 Apr 1707. He married 1st Anna Graff there on 3 Apr 1676. They had 3 Children :- the Johannes Sebastian that you mentioned who was as you say born in 1677.....(nothing more here for him)....Hans Jakob, born 11 Feb 1681, who was married to Walpurgis Zipf; and lastly to Thomas born/bpt 11 Feb 1681, twin of Hans Jakob, (Thomas died on 5 Apr 1681). Thomas Hertenstein who was born in 1651, was the son of Andreas Hertenstein and Maria Geringer. This couple are 8Xgreat grandparents of my husband, James Zipf. We are descended from their son Hans, born in 1653, and also through their son, Johannes Jakobus, born in 1662 Thomas Hertenstein (1651) married a 2nd time to Barbara Lauritz on 20 Nov 1684 and had 8 children with her. 1st wife Anna Graff, was the only child of Jakob Graff, born 1617 & died 23 Dec 1680.(son of Georg & Katharina Graff of Danzig) and his wife, Barbara Peter born 1607(daughter of Georg Peter and Barbara Wolff ). Jakob Graff and Barbara Peter married on 10 Sept 1650. Anna Graff was born on 10 June 1651 and died 4 June 1684. She had a previous marriage to a Matthias Hertenstein (relation not shown) and had just one child, Andreas, born 6 Dec 1671. Her first husband must have died between this date and April of 1676 when she married Thomas Hertenstein. Andreas and Maria were married in 1650 in Kippenheimweiler and had 7 children together. Thomas (as above) Hans (our descent) born/bpt 13 Feb 1653; died 6 Sept 1733; married to Maria Wolff on 20 Nov 1679. Ursula b. 14 Feb 1655 Andreas b. 9 Apr 1659 .....and the rest of the triplets...... Maria also born/bpt 9 Apr 1659; she married Abraham Graber in Heiligenzell. Anna also born/bpt 9 Apr 1659 Johannes Jakobus (also our descent) b. 27 July 1662; died 30 June 1741; married Maria Frischmann in 1690. Maria Geringer was the daughter of Hans Geringer, Burger of Kippenheim and Ursula his wife. Maria married a 2nd time to Jakob Schwendt in Mahlberg on 11 Sept 1679.
