    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Vincent's of NC/Va Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/3Y.2ADI/231.389.421.572.587.579.1.2 Message Board Post: I wonder if my Vincents in NC are related. My hunch is that they came form Maryland/Delaware/Virginia/NC. I am having a problem tracing them backwards. (I see our names are similar) My ggrandfather was James Vincent. My grandfather was John Fletcher Vincent (1875-1920) and my father was John Fletcher Vincent, Jr. (1917-1984) my brother is John Fletcher Vincent, III (1949-) On the death certificate of JFV (1875-1920) the parents are listed as Abella Mason and James Vincent. On the marriage certificate for JFV and Virginia Belle Rainey on October 10, 1900, both parents of JFV were listed as deceased and the parents names were James Vincent and S. Vincent. I can't find any links to James or Abella or S. Vincent, although I have one census (1880 that helps). JFV was called Fletcher by many people and he is listed on a census with a S Vincent in 1880 (age 5) in Northampton County, NC. My Vincents lived in Northampton County, NC, Greensville County, VA., perhaps Dinwiddie County, Va and Halifax County, NC. JFV and Virginia Rainey are buried at Oak Grove Cemetery in Northampton County, NC. If you have any links, please email me. Bev
