He married Martha ?? and moved to Muskingum County, OH, just before the 1820 census. John and Martha had sons, William, John, Thomas, Milton, and Joseph. Just before the 1840 census, the family moved to Danville, IL. We have not been able to tie John D. WAPLES to any of the "published" lines.
