Kendall and Penelope moved to Philadelphia shortly after marring and had a son Richard Wesley Stewart who died in infancy. They also had a son John Stewart. Penelope Wesley was born ca. 1800 in Lewes and died September 15, 1880, in Philadelphia, PA. Penelope is the daughter of Richard Wesley, who was born 1770 In Lewes, Del. and died September 3, 1821 along with his sons George, John and Samuel when their boat sank off of Cape Henelopen. All told Richard Wesley and his wife Ann had 7 children. The remaining three being Richard, Elizabeth and Anna. The Penelope Stewart you found in the 1850 - 1870 census is Penelope Stewart nee Wesley (also spelled Westley in some records). I have proff positive in family documents. If I can be of further help let me know. Carol-Lynn Sappé nee Stewart Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
