    2. Oops! I meant to send the previous to my daughter! While on the subject, I will say that my HASTINGS research in Salt lake lib. found most descended from New England families in 1600s. Hence, I thought perhaps mine had left the cold country to settle farther south (Delaware). Lately, I am of the opinion the Delaware Hastings families might have come in with Wm. Penn. Does anyone have anything to refute or corroborate? I've had corresp. with Hastings researchers with Quaker ancestors. Who has a spreadsheet that might be sent through email with all possible HASTINGS connections? (DE, PA, MD)

    3. Why not try the folks at the Quaker Info Center in Philadelphia: http://www.quakerinfo.org/ I believe most Delaware Quakers have historically been associated with the Wilmington area, northern DE, New Castle County, but I believe there was a Meeting (church) or two farther south. There were some old, old Meetings along the MD Eastern Shore, too: one Meetinghouse there is a National Historic Site. It might not be difficult to find a list of names of early Phila. Quaker settlers and see if there are any Hastings' on it. I do know that their descendants are now scattered all over North America - a few years ago I met one from California. BTW, I speak as a Quaker Studies scholar, for what it's worth! :) Good luck, Leo Peter O'Filon.
