The only information I have is George Betts b. 1650 in Somerset Co., MD; m. 7 Nov 1669 in Somerset Co.MD to Bridget Bosman b. 1653, daughter of William Bosman of Somerset Co. and his wife Bridget. and these notes: In John Laws' will he mentions in addition to children and widow, "my brother, George Betts." (Annapolis MD Wills, Liber K p. 307; proved 6/30/1697). This actually refers to his brother-in-law, George Betts. Thomas Roe and Ann his wife deed to Anna Laws, daughter of John Laws, seven heifers. Her uncle George Betts to have charge of them. If she dies no issue then to brothers Robert and George Laws. This is just information I have gathered from various sources but have not verified. This is not my family. This is also pretty early info but maybe your George is descended from this one! The Laws family (or at least some of them) moved into Sussex Co., DE. Just thought I'd share this since I had it so easily available! There are a couple of paragraphs about the Betts family in a book I have but I'm not sure its the right family line.
