Does anyone have any history of this family behind this? ------------------------------------------------ Many New Englanders did migrate west via NY, and their is the Connecticut firelands reserve in northern OH. I still want to know what New England HASTINGS and/or collateral families might have migrated south to PA and Delaware before or right after 1700 ??? I have heard of some ancestors getting tired of New England winters and going to milder climate, just like in modern times. Margaret Hastings Hendrix DE & MD ca.1750 - Obadiah HASTINGS (d.1820-30) and John BENNETT, same area & era . Obadiah Hastings' son James m. John Bennett's dau Alafare/Allifair. also DE & MD ca. 1750 - who were the parents of Nancy WALSTON who m. Solomon COLLINS in 1824 Worc. Co., MD; Dau Mary E. m. Wateman/Waitman HASTINGS. and (W)VA, IL, MO - John CAMPBELL - m1. Cynthia FUQUA ca. 1822 - 5 ch; m2. Emily FORD - 7 ch. Ch b.(W)VA, IL, & MO. Oldest of the 12, Edward CARRINGTON CAMPBELL, was fa of Mary Minnette Campbell TOMLINSON of Hannibal, MO. ********* Is CARRINGTON A FAMILY NAME IN THEIR ANCESTRY? ********** (John was NOT a bro. of Alexander Campbell, founder of Disciples. of Chr. Ch. - that seems to be a figment of orphaned Minnette's imagination. (I spent years researching Disciples of Christ Church Campbells, to no avail.)
