    3. Hi List & Margaret I've been working on a Hastings lead and have a questions someone on the list may be able to help me with. According to James Hastings' will of 1830 (H-191 & 192), probated 12 March 1833, he and his wife Allefair / Allifare / etc. had ten children who were named in that document. They were; John, Eleanor, Maria, Allifair, James, Waitman, Harriot, Elizabeth, Eli & Elihu. However, the Sussex Co., DE Orphans Court Records indicate that James was the father of 12 children, who were the other two? Sussex County, Delaware Orphans Court Records, dated 23 September 1835 (Lib. R fol. 137) Petition for dower. James Hastings, died ca 7 March 1833 testate, leaving his land to his 5 sons, Viz: John, James, Waitman, Eli & Elihu. He left a widow, Allefare and 12 children. Signed Allefare "X" Hasting Also in 1835 an Ally Hasting (late Ally Benet) and Thomas Hasting and Britannia T. Hasting, his wife (late Britannia T. Benet), sold land to one Jonathan Baley. (Sussex Co., DE Land Records Vol. 45 pg. 242) Apparently Ally and Britannia were sisters, but were Thomas & James brothers? A Thomas Hasting also witnessed James' will. Any help would be appreciated, Parker
