Am I right in assuming that would be Wm. Penn's time? Also, when I got my 1790 and later Hastings Sussex Co., DE, census info, I think I remember noting that most did not have slaves (or were they 'free men)'? [My early genealog. searches, I'm sorry to say, were not well documented. If current Hastings searchers could fill me in on this, I'd appreciate it.]
