(I was born there later.) Meanwhile, all my elder sibs (to as early as 1943) were born in the hospital in Milford, Sussex Co. I believe that was the norm for deliveries of Seaford babies to at least that far back. (Milford and Salisbury are similar distances from Seaford, though Milford may be five or so minutes closer.)I know that EARLIER (than 1943), Seafordians (at least all the ones in my family) went to the Beebe Hospital in Lewes for their medical care. My great-grandfather who got tetanus (lockjaw) in 1936 was transported there. I know of various other early family cases of going to the hospital in Lewes for medical care, though I don't know when the hospital in Milford opened, which would have been significantly closer to the Seaford area. At any rate, the hospital in Seaford opened at somem point during the 1950s, and people went to Milford or Lewes for medical ca! re, in every known case in my family, prior to then.
