There are nine cemeteries with a total of 71 "Palmer" or "Palmore" listings in the above book. All were located relatively close together (four in the Milton area, one in Milford, two in the Georgetown area and two in the Rehoboth area. The earliest born date was 1817, so that sort of eliminates this resource as a link to your Charles or Lydia. According to FIRST DORCHESTER FAMILIES by Calvin W. Mowbray, John Hodson/Hudson migrated to Dorchester County from Virginia prior to 1659. He made his will on February 20, 1676 and it was entered for probate on July 14, 1677. In his will he names two sons by the name of John, one by his first wife and another by his second wife. The son of his second wife is known in the records as John Hodson Secundus. The older son is known simply as John Hodson. The older son also had a son or sons named John one of whom was known as John Hodson Quartus. I have not seen the original probate records, but abstracts from the Dorchester Land Records confirm that there were men known as John Hodson/Hudson Sr, Jr, Secundus (2nd) and Quartus (4th) living contemporaneously. 1. [DESUSSEX] KILL (creek) & KILLE ("riverbed" or "water channel")
    2. KILL (creek) & KILLE ("riverbed" or "water channel") As a body of water, a kill is a creek. The word comes from the Middle Dutch kille, meaning "riverbed" or "water channel." The modern Dutch term is kil. The term is used in areas of Dutch influence in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware & Marinade and other areas of the former New Netherland colony & New Sweden colony of Dutch America to describe a strait, river or arm of the sea. Examples are Kill Van Kull and Arthur Kill, both separating Staten Island, New York from New Jersey, and used as a composite name, Wallkill River in Orange County, New York and the Schuylkill River in Pennsylvania. In Delaware, there ironically exists "Murderkill." Happy hunting, Helen (DCGS) ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com.

They were John Handy who married Rebeccah Nichols, Charlotte Handy who married her cousin Cannon Smith (son of George Smith), and Trustin Handy who married Sina Wright. Each of the children are followed forward for one or two generations in the ANNALS. Cannon and Handy Smith moved to Cass County, Michigan. Trustin and Sina lived in Caroline County, Maryland and Sussex County, Delaware. In my limited research on this branch of the Handy family, I have not run across any Murrays. Have you looked into the descendants of John Handy's brother, Capt. Isaac Handy (1746-1826). According to the ANNALS, he married Amelia Curtis, daughter of Samuel Curtis and lived in Somerset County on a tract named "Locust Grove". His son, Levin Handy (Nov 27, 1788-June 10, 1854 had a son named Severn Handy (Aug 18, 1829-Nov 10, 1855). You might want to search for information about Samuel Curtis? Author: DavidWilsonUSPL Surnames: Tull Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.delaware.counties.sussex/3200/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Wondering if anyone happens to know during what years Earle Martin Tull (1896-1990) of Seaford, Sussex County, served as a Delaware Senator, Congressman, or whatever else. I personally knew him, and members of his family, and old Mr. Tull was frequently referred to as "Senator." I know that he served as whatever he was was during at least the late 1950s (and believe it was as a Senator), but would like to know the full year spread, as well as specifically what office it is that he was elected to serve in. I've done web searches for any references to him, but came up with absolutely no "hits" either time. I don't need any info about him except just what his political office was, as well as his years of term were, as I already know everything else about him that I need to know. (I seem to recall that he served in whatever office for twelve or so years.) Incidentally, Mr. Tull was in no known way my relative. Thanks in advance for any information anyone may have. (Please reply ! on this board.) Sincerely, Dave Wilson Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I have done a bit of research on that family and do not think they are my Murrays, even though his sons were David and James, names in another of my Murray lines. But, yes the George, Curtis and Lydia Smith m John Handy is the very family I am pursuing. [John Handy; Spouse: Lydia Smith; Parents: Samuel Handy , Betty Bolither; Birth Place: Somerset CO, Coventry Parish, MD; Birth Date: 22 Oct 1744 Marriage Place: Sussex CO Marriage Date: 1775] Do you have their childen or any other verified dates on these folks? According to "Annals and Memorials of the Handys and Their Kindred" Lydia Smith & John Handy had Charlote who m Cannon Smith. I have Charlotte's family from census[MI 1850] with children, among others, John Handy Smith[1809] & Emeline[1815]. My John Handy? Murray[1801]& Letty had, among others, dau Emeline B.[1837], a name that is uncommon in the families I have researched. And his sons were Severn "Handy"[Severn being Letty's father] and Curtis "William"[Curtis also not a name I have found among the Murrays].
