He was with the family in 1850 at age 17 in Nanticoke. He was living in Sussex in 1910-1920, but I'm not sure where or who he married. The other son is David R. Smith, born 3/12/1844/died 12/3/1917. I believe he married a Sarah McDowell, but before that had a son named William J. Smith, born about 1881. He also had a son named Harry Smith, born about 1901. I believe that David also stayed in Sussex. Any help appreciated. Joni Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Author: marjeadams Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.delaware.counties.sussex/3232/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Is there a source that equates post offices with present day locations? Today the TOWN of Millsboro is in Indian River Hd. What is the location of the Millsboro P. O. in 1860 Baltimore Hd? Searching John Smith I find Millsboro the P.O. for one in L&R Hd and another in Baltimore Hd. The John in Balt.Hd is thought to be the light house keeper at Fenwick Island. These are disperse geographic locations--was mail delivered from Millsboro by boat to people along the Indian River and down the coast to Fenwick Island? or did people have to pick up their mail at the P.O.???
