Vickie, Thanks for answering my query but....I live way out on the let coast and doing any actual physical searaching is impossible so I just keep hoping someone will come across something. Of course, since I'm back in the early to mid 1700's, there's not a lot of records available. Thanks again for your time....Jo Anne

Jo Anne, I dont have anything on your Quillens for that time frame and I dont know if this will help you. There was a Quillen family in New Castle County (in New Castle) who owned a Car Dealership called Quillen Ford. It was on Route 9 (New Castle Avenue). Searching for some of those in New Castle County might lead you to the onces you are looking for, unless of course you have already done this and are part of that family too. The reason I mention this is because Im searching for BRITTINGHAMs and I never knew they originated (at least mine did) in Delmar, De and Delmar Md and Wicomico Co MD but the did. I went to the Archives in Dover one day, started copying all the enumeration cards for 1900 and some from 1880 on every BRITTINGHAM they had. I looked over them, didnt see anything for me. I kept them. One night I just needed something to keep me busy , so I started really reading and analyziing everything on each copy. No one in New Castle County was a match. THen I pulled out those Sussex County ones out and could not believe what I saw. It was my great grandfathers card. It had him, his wife, her child from a first marriage (I never knew about that) and their first child. I never would have looked there. I was under some impression that all the "downstate" so to speak BRITTINGHAMs were a different family. DOnt know why, no one ever said that, just something I had in mny head , I guess. Since I have found a Death Certificate on that gr grandmother which game me her maiden name, and her mothers maiden name and SKSs , many of the gave me the marriage records of both marriages from Wicomico from the Dryden books. Sorry this was so long, but I just thought I should explain my treasures I found in the other end of state. Hope this helps open a new area of research for you. There are still 26 Quillens in the phone book, none with any of the first names you have, but they could be hidden in middle names. If there is anything I can do to help, let me know and I will do what I can. Take care. Vickie
Sunnybrook - Your referenc to Corn. Paynter as Cornelius is correct, I'm sure. I will have to get back to you on the Dickerson/ Hastings connection you asked about earlier, as I'm having to be away from home and using daughter's computer to get my email. My records are not available for awhile, but will try to get to that matter soon.

OK, this is my annual question......Need info on Clement Quillin, B ca 1750, married to Hannah _________ (not Anna King), had Amos, Rachael, Adam, Joshua, and Elihu. Or...does anyone have a married Hannah - spouse unknown - who might be in the DE/MD area near this time and have kids with the above names? Or...does anyone have the children or wife of Thomas Quillin, B ca 1720 MD/DE? He had one son Daniel (B 1755 MD and wed to Eleanor) but there must have been other kids..... Thanks, Jo Anne

Hi! Sacker WYATT is listed in the 1790 Delaware Federal Census. He is listed in Sussex Co, Lewes & Rehoboth Hund Twp. If anyone has access to the census, I would be very appreciative of a lookup of the other info contained in the census. Sacker Wyatt died in 1800 in Sussex, De. He was married twice 1. Betty ? 2. m to Nancy Johnson (dau of Samuel & Sarah Johnson) about 1789/90 and had possibly 6 children (three with each wife?). I am looking for any info available on Sacker Wyatt and/or his families, or suggestions on where to obtain info on him for this time period (1850's-1800). Am also trying to determine if Jasper WYATT b Sept 4, 1768. d. ? was Sacker Wyatt's son or brother. Jasper was m. to Catherine Ballah. Thank you very much for whatever help or suggestions that anyone can give me. Charmaine [email protected]

I checked the index but no Alafare (or variation thereof) Bennett is listed nor any Hastings. Sorry. I found the following in case anyone out there is interested in this line; I found this in Sussex County, DE Land Records. >From Sussex County, Delaware Land Records Vol. 57 pg. 450-452 dated 13 April 1832 recorded 29 October 1850 Sarah Dickerson, widow of Charles Dickerson, of Sussex Co., DE, to Allison Dickerson, of Jonathan, of Sussex Co., DE, for $40, lands that Jonathan Dickerson devised his son Allison, it being the same land that Wrixam Warren devised to his grandson William Warren, who died intestate and without issue, leaving two sisters, Sarah (the grantor) and Mary, now the wife of Benton Dickerson. Charles Dickerson became indebted and his land was sold by the sheriff to Jonathan Dickerson. Charles & Sarah Dickerson released by deed to Jonathan Dickerson, but the deed was faulty. Sarah Dickerson now releases her undivided one half interest in said lands to Allison Dickerson. Sarah "X" Dickerson (Seal) Witnesses: Caleb S. Layton, Corn. Paynter Oct. 25, 1832, rec'd of Mr. Allison Dickerson $40 for the use of Sarah Dickerson. Signed Caleb S. Layton, Atty for Sarah Dickerson. Parker

It didn't really give any proof for Purnel Warren's parentage though. However I have found the following which pretty much does show that William and Purnel were sons of Eli Warren, son of Wrixam and Rhoda (Bennett) Warren. Both William and Purnel/Purnal Warren were survived by two sisters, Sarah "Sally" Warren (married Charles Dickerson) and Mary "Polly" Warren (married Benton H. Dickerson). According to BENNETT FAMILY OF SUSSEX COUNTY DELAWARE, by J. He states no reference to substantiate that conclusion, but its a lead. Good Luck
