I have a question mark behind William, son of Edward and Anne. The only line I show is for the son, David. Any information on the other children would be most appreciated. I'm also interested in the Hazzard family. My great grandmother was Addie Elizabeth Hazzard, daughter of a John Hazzard whose father was also a John Hazzard. The John's are late 1800's and are buried in St George's chapel. Can anyone help me get back farther?
I have an Emmaline Stockley but do not have a husband attached to her. I have her parents as Hannah Kollock and (First name unknown) Stockley. I think the time period works out. I have a lot of John Hazzards but not John B. Hazzard. Hope someone else can help us out. Eva (Mrs. Dana West Ruben) Dean Lynch wrote: >My oldest ancestor is John B Hazzard m Emmaline Stockley. Hi everyone, I'm trying to figure out what newspapers would have been in existence in the Georgetown, Broadkiln area in the 1850s and if they are on microfilm or online anywhere. Does anyone know which ones might have covered obituaries for that area at that time? Thanks, Mary _________________________________________________________________ Tired of spam? To John Farrall - I have filed in my COLLINS folder that you wrote on July 4, 2002 to Lower DELMARVA @ rootsweb - "--Wateman WHITE, b.1861 in Smyrna, married to Annie WILSON. Wateman's father was Clement WHITE, b.1816 (somewhere in the Milford DE area) and married to Mary HOPPER, from Caroline Co., MD. The other family is that of my great grandfather John R. HALL. b.1865 in Chespeake City, MD and married to Harriett COLLINS (d/o John and Rebecca COLLINS). ----- 1 - Have you or anyone reading this determined if the name 'WATEMAN' is a family name in the DELMARVA area? I have a great-grandfa Wateman HASTINGS b. 1819, Little Crk. Hd., Sussex Co., DE. 2 - Wateman Hastings married Mary E. COLLINS, dau of Solomon and Nancy WALSTON COLLINS, m. Worc. Co. MD 1824, both of whose parents I'm trying to find. Thanks for reply. Zipporah was born 1788 and died 1829. They left children that were places in the family of Ebe Campbell and his wife Lidia McCabe (sister of the above mentioned Amos). The Campbell family left lower DE with the children of Amos and Zipporah and moved to Preble County, Ohio. The brother and sister, Amos and Lydia likely both born in lower DE must have had parents. I am hopeful that someone can help me find thier Parents as well as to the family of Zipporah. Thanks, Dale Jones <[email protected]>

I haven't been able to find much on them though. I was at one point quite convinced my Nancy Middleton Downing born 1779 was the daughter of Dickerson and Nancy Banam Middleton, but I don't have anything on the matter. I do know the Downings probably go back to a Terrence Downing born circa 1670's MD who married Elizabeth Middleton. James Middletons brothers are probably where both your line and mine come in. So if you find anything please let me know. I will do the same.
James HASTINGS - d. 1833, son of Obadiah, Little Crk. Hd., Sussex Co., DE. The HEARN name is always close by. James' son Wateman/Waitman b. 1819 and wf Mary E., went to Mercer Co., west central edge of OH, in 1846, with her parents Solomon and Nancy WALSTON COLLINS and their other children. But who did they follow there? Wateman's son, Zachary T. lived right across the state line in Jay Co., IN, where there seem to be more HEARN than HASTINGS names in 1800s. To Dave Hastings - Do you have Isaac Hearn 1804-1861 in your data base? Other names closely connected are Asbury Hearn (d. 1860 38y6m11d), Handy Hearn 1830-1873. All I know is their were several Middletons who married Downings in Sussex Co DE. All ended up going to OH then IND. However, most of those other Middletons were the children of a James Middleton born about 1750. My Nancy evidently was not so I am at a dead end on this line.
