It is very hard to read. On it are the words "CO, B, HATCH'S MINN. CAV." It appears he was in a volunteer cavalry organized in 1863-1864, moved to Fort Abercrombie in the Dakota Territory in 1864, and mustered out in 1866. My wife is a descendent of Mary Louise Virginia, your great grandfather's sister, who I have born on Dec 2 1869 in Hamel, MN. She married Frank Francis Pumarlo March 20, 1888 in Corcoran, MN.
