> Do you know when/where they were married? > > Anne > Hello Anne....only information I have is taken from the "History or Argenteuil Quebec and Prescott, Ontario" p.305. about Samuel Webster "In his youth, he was clerk in the store of his uncle, Peter Spink, at St. Denis. In 1850, he married Amelia Gardner, and the same year he bought the lot at Cushing where he now lives." Difficult to know if he was still at St. Denis. when he married. Family conjecture is that Amelia may have been from Grenville but have nor been able to find her. Amelia was Catholic and Samuel Presbyterian. The first three children were all baptized in Notre Dame Des Sept Douleurs in Grenville where Amelia is referred to as Marie Louise Desjardins and also as Emilia DeJardin. All very confusing! On her tombstone she is Amelia Des Jardin. Any ideas? Thanks, Doreen
