    3. Hi, Glenn, When I saw your surname and your address on your message below, and wondered whether you can help me with one of my research blocks. I've been looking for the birth family and exact birthplace or parish of my gg-grandfather Joseph ROY dit DESJARDINS-GARDNER. He was born abt 1834-41 in French Canada (Quebec) and married Appoline/Pauline HUDON dit BEAULIEU/BOLIER in Maine in 1857, where Joseph died, supposed in 1883. Family tradition has it that his line came from reserved Indian lands in MI (go figure!) and that the tribe had been broken up and removed from their lands. I don't know whether the tribe was removed from MI or removed to there, though. I also don't know the tribe, but have been mainly looking at Ojibwe, Ottawa, Potawatomie and some eastern tribes. Although I have found Metis families and individuals in MI tribal lists, I've never been able to connect Joseph to any family there. I've also started checking WI and MN more recently, thinking that I needed to broaden my search. MN might be a connection, too, because the family of a Magloire COTE shared Joseph's farmland in Aroostook Co. Maine around 1880. Magloire and his wife Anastasie HUOT were married in MN. I have more information on the DESJARDINSs in Maine, and on the COTE's marriage, if this would be helpful. Any thoughts? Thanks, Anne Stefaniak, Mass. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Glenn L.
