However, one references "Cidalie" (but it could be "Cedulie" as it is handwritten--see attached) and the other "Celedia"--see attached. I do know she came from Quebec, so I am curious if any one appears to be more "French" than the other? Has anyone heard of any version as a French Canadian name? Thanks. I have updated information that I hope will help: born May 8 1835 Canada; Married Cecilia Scott abt 1861; Cecilia was listed as "Lelinna" in the 1880 Census, "Sidler" in the 1900 & "Cedaline" in the 1910; They both died between 1910 & 1920 in Hennepin County, MN; They had the following children (all born in Hennepin County): Joseph b May 1862, m Mary ?; Christian b 1864; Lydia b 1868; Mary Louise Virginia b dec 2 1869 m Frank Francis Pumarlo (Pomerleau); Josephine b 1873; Albert b May 1833; Eugene b March 1881. My grandfather's name is Joseph Elzear A. Desjardins, and he married Marie Merilda (or Merilda Marie) Ricard. Her father was Joseph Damase Ricard, her mother was Marie L. Veillette (or perhaps Antoinette Veillette). Joseph's parents were Adolph Ricard, who married Marie Piche. Marie's parents were Francois Xavier Veillette, mother Delia Lefebure. I don't have dates or places for birth, death or marriage, or children's names. Was there any information for Marie C. Caron? I have her parents as Magloire Caron and Venerande Fortin. Hi, I found on BMS2000 (http://www.bms2000.org) the following info: Elzear Roy's parents are Francois Roy Desjardins and Sophie Lebel they married Sept 10, 1866 at Paroisse (Parish) St Eloi, St Eloi, Riviere-du-Loup, Que. Francois' parents were Joseph Roy and Modeste Michaud, Sophie's parents were Joseph Lebel and Sophie Labrie. If you give me more info on your father/mother and grand-father/grand-mother I'll see if I can find more info for you. Cyprien on 21 Aug 1888.
