Don't even know if this is a relative or a family friend. It looks to be about 1940's but again not sure. Woman in photo is wearing nurse uniform. Inscription on the back reads: "Jane, Mrs John R Derrick, sweet pretty face" and also includes what appears to be Jane's maiden name but is not legibile. It looks like "Rassueta" or something similar. Does this sound familiar to anyone? Any help is appreciated... Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I have only lightly touched the surface of my mom's side of the family Ada Beryl Derrick. Her dad was one of the original settlers in the Okanogan Valley in British Columbia. I think he said that some of the family settled in Quebec. I know some were in Merrickville, Ontario. I wonder if my family is connected to your family? Please get back to me. I am not sure if Alfred is a direct-line descendant in my line or not. My ancestor John Derrick was born 1783 and died in Rabun County Georgia in 1839. He and is wife Patsy came into Rabun County in about 1820 from N.C. John's father was from Pennsylvania but I have little confirmed information on either John or Patsy prior to 1820's. I have all descendants after John and Patsy recorded. You might look at the descendants of Johann Simon DERK, who was the earliest immigrant in the DERRICK line originating in Pennsylvania, traveling to Shenandoah, Virginia (Michael DERK settled in W. Virginia) then into Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, and Arkansas. The DERK's were freighters with another family from Pennsylvania, the STAPLETON's. The FUCH's (FOX) and BIRD's lived among DERRICK's in Tennessee leaving their history about Sevier County, TN in the 1780's. Let me hear from you if you have anything on my John or Patsy (nee WATTS).
