I have in my line Betty Garlick (d/o Samuel Garlick and Deborah Harrison). Betty was born 15 April 1798 in Hadfield. There is a marriage recorded in Glossop between John Wood of Glossop and Betty Garlick of Glossop on 25 Jun 1821 (both signed), Witnesses: W Poole, John Hadfield. Betty and John can be found in the 1841 census living between Samuel Dearnaley and John Swindells and in 1851 living next door to her father, Samuel Garlick in Hadfield. I believe that John Wood was the son of Martin Wood and Hannah Garlick (thanks to Graham H). I also believe that Hannah was the daughter of Robert Garlick and Mary Broadbent.
