    3. After years of accepting my husband's (ex Belper) pronunciation of Eyam as "Eeem", I recently heard it said as "I-am" or "I-yam". I look forward to hearing from anyone out there who can put me right. Thelma

    3. I'm certain it is pronounced Eeem- been there a number of times and it is not pronounced I-am or I-yam.
