    3. > Hi Bob, There's nothing in the Ticknall settlement certificates, removal orders and settlement examinations for him either. Might he have come from the Sutton in Ashfield area if he married there, perhaps he was working in Ticknall and married a girl back near where he came from. His is the only Granger family in Ticknall. Do you have the details of the two children buried at Ticknall as well? If not I can supply. 3. Thanks Sue, I have done a search in the Notts FHS database and there is no Henry in the likely period that I would imagine he would have been born. There are a few Grangers but not in the Sutton area. There is a family story that the Grangers were originally Huguenots from France but there is no evidence to support this. I know that William Granger (Henry's son) was buried at Ticknall on 31st Jan 1755 - just a few months before Henry - but not of any others. I haven't been able to find anything about Henry's wife Mary after his death - she would have been quite young then so probably remarried - especially as she had children aged 10, 4 and 1 to care for. Any information about the Grangers in Ticknall that you can provide would be appreciated. I did have a look around the church graveyard but could not find any headstones. Thanks again for your kind interest.
