Hi All Wonder if anyone can help with two of my lost ancestors for whom I've been searching for many years. They are brother and sister, Samuel Bullock and Sarah Jane Bullock, both born Derbyshire, children of my 3x great grandfather. Samuel Bullock is last seen on the 1881 Census living at 20 Bertha Street, Sheffield, with his sister Mary Ann Twibell and her family. His age is given as 41 but he was born 9 September 1837 at Holymoorside, Brampton, Derbyshire. Sarah JaneBullock is last seen on the 1871 Census living at Spring Wood, Sutton cum Duckmanton, Derbyshire also living with her sister, Mary Ann Twibell and family. Her name is transcribed as Sarah Bulcach 24 dom serv Unm B. Holeymoorside The Twibells were in Sheffield by 1881 with Samuel lodging with them but I can find no evidence of his death in Sheffield nor can I find a marriage or death for Sarah Jane. Any help to find what happened to these ancestors of mine would be much appreciated! Happy New Year to one and all. Christine

I had an ancestor there and have been to look at that Wood. My mother came from Arkwright and my grandmother from Calow, grandfathrt from Duckmanton, the name was Watkinson. I have a photo of a little row of houses where they lived....(somewhere) but I will try and fish it out if you think that is the one. This would be in the early 20th Cebtury.
