Happy New Year to everyone. My brickwall has been with me for a long time. Robert Loverock married Elizabeth Sherratt in Checkley on 23 June 1715, but where did Robert come from? They had two sons, Robert and John who were both baptised in Ipstones. It was my line who chose the spelling of Loverock in about 1800. Before that anything goes, so I search for L*v*r*ck. The possible link to Derbyshire is the will of Francis Laverock, which was proved in 1640. He was a husbandman of Morton and had the following children: James. William, Ann (wife of Henry Eyre), and Robert. Does anyone have any ideas? Barbara a Derbyshire lass living down south.
