Sue, Many thanks for this information - it certainly opens up my search avenues. I have come across the name Sheavyn / Shevin in my research but at this point cannot place where - I do not have the name in the tree as it stands but may have seen it either in census or parish records. As the family then moved up the road to Stanton by Bridge it may have been there. Were my Mary's 1806 burial and the1758 / 1760 baptisms for Augustine & Mary's daughters also in Ticknall? I have found the Elizabeth - John Purslem marriage on Family Search so it could be worth doing a comparison of Henry and Elizabeth baptisms on that site to see if I can find a common area / parentage. This has certainly given me a new route to follow on a subject which I had considered a brick wall - thanks again. Mary Granger married on the 30th April 1758 to Augustine (Austin) Sheavyn, both of Ticknall, at Ticknall, by banns. I didn't realise it until I looked but there was an earlier Granger marriage - Elizabeth Granger married John Purslom, both of Ticknall, 18 April 1731 at Calke, by banns. Austin Shevin was buried 17 Dec 1780 at Ticknall, he was evidently a widower when he married Mary Granger as there was a Mary wife of Augustin Shevin buried 13 Feb 1757 at Ticknall. Mary herself seems to have been buried 19 Oct 1806 as a widow. Augustine & his first wife had Mary bap 16 Mar 1732/3, Ann bap 1 Mar 1737/8, Rachel bap 7 Dec 1740 and Catherine bap 13 June 1744. Augustine and Mary (Granger) had Hannah bap 22 Aug 1758, buried 16 Dec 1759 and Sarah bap 18 Nov 1760. Hope that helps a little. Just remembered, there is no gravestone to any of these in Ticknall churchyard, not a surviving one anyway.
