Thanks Paul - I've found the Great Derby Footrace on MySpace! Must play it again as I couldn't make out all the names? Was it factual do you know? I could make out someone called Shaw from Staffs getting beaten by our (local?) lad! Great stuff. As for 'The Derby Ram' i HAD heard of it but I was just familiar with snatches of it! Slightly different versions abound especially pronouncing Derby like its spelt. Was it EVER pronounced such here I wonder? Mentions of eagles nesting made me laugh! Ref: the Bog! How topical! Wonder if it floods? I'm out at Shipley on top of a hill so safe from watery deluges!
