Hi Rob, microfilms for Derbys PRs are currently held at the County Local Studies in Matlock rather than the DRO, which doesn't have room for the films in its temporary premises, so unless someone from the list pops up saying they are going to CLS, I would recommend contacting the library directly, as I believe they will do that lookup for you. Contact details here: http://www.derbyshire.gov.uk/leisure/local_studies/local_studies_libraries/county_hall_local_studies/ It's probably a good idea for everyone who's planning a visit to DRO to be aware that they, and the County Local Studies, will both be completely closed from 21 December until 12 February - they have just announced this on the DRO blog (http://recordoffice.wordpress.com/). During the closure they will be moving their combined resources into the newly refurbished and extended building on New Street in Matlock so from 12 Feb there will be an exciting new research experience for us all - with a cafe too!! So the closure is disappointing but with a good result in store, we hope. Celia Thanks for that and I will email them as it will be easier. About time New Street had a Cafe travelling up and down that hill for food at lunchtime is bad enough for someone like myself with the ability to make the trip but for the elderly etc it is a killer Rob -----Original Message----- From: Celia Renshaw <celiarenshaw@gmail.com> To: derbysgen <derbysgen@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sun, 2 Dec 2012 16:12 Subject: Re: [DBY] DRO Hi Rob, microfilms for Derbys PRs are currently held at the County Local Studies in Matlock rather than the DRO, which doesn't have room for the films in its temporary premises, so unless someone from the list pops up saying they are going to CLS, I would recommend contacting the library directly, as I believe they will do that lookup for you.
