    3. Good afternoon Is there a MILNES researcher in the area? Having a bit of rest from Crich matters and looking at my family history and I am stumped on an interesting member of my line: James MILNES born 1893 Brackenfield (bap 17 Feb 1844 Morton) He joined the 91st Foot Highlanders enlisting at Nottingham 20th May 1859 at quarter past 11am; aged 20 years & 4mths. Bounty of three pounds and a free kit. He served 9yr & 300 days (most of it in East Indies) In 1881 he was at Slack, Ashover unmarried aged 42 (recorded as MILLS) In 1891 he was at Slack Lane, Ashover a widower aged 53 I cannot find a marriage (or death) of any possible wife. Nor can I find his death date. Have looked closely at the Ashover registers but not there. If he is on anyone’s line and they have any info I would delighted to hear from them Peter
