Interests Bowden 1680-1950 Hayfield, New Mills, Mellor, Glossop Stockport and Manchester
I have Elizabeth Bowden 1866-? married John Wm Turner of Fernilee, Whaley Bridge 1884, registered Chapel en le Frith. My notes state her mother may have been a Ruth or Hannah Drinkwater. Also: Elizabeth R Bowden wife of Harry Charlesworth married Glossop 1913 - gravestone at Top Chapel, Charlesworth states: "Harry Charlesworth, son, husband of Elizabeth S. Charlesworth, of Birkenhead, died 11.1.1937 aged 62" I'm not researching the Bowden surname but have interests in Glossop and surrounding areas. I've no further information on the two above female Bowdens. Hi Jane, thanks for contacting me. I have a little knowledge of Elizabeth who married Wm Turner and will search my archive for anything of interest to you. You may also be interested to learn that this ranch of the Bowden family and the Turners are well represented in two books. A Derbyshire Childhood by James Philip Bowden and The History of Bethel Chapel Hayfiled. The Bowdens are also well represented at Charleswsorth Independant Chapel (Top Chapel) for which there is also a History booklet. kind regards Chris Bowden On 08/06/2018 23:22, Jane Coop wrote: > I have Elizabeth Bowden 1866-? married John Wm Turner of Fernilee, > Whaley Bridge 1884, registered Chapel en le Frith.
