I am prompted by your nudge, Nivard, to communicate some more about my Robinson search. I did a DNA test with Ancestry and the results were quite amazing. I got over 490 possible connections! But the most satisfying so far was a woman in Lancashire who has Robinson family in her ancestry and she gave me a possible venue to look in Lancashire. I have suspected that my Zachariah Robinson probably moved to Eyam since I have never found any baptism or birth record in Derbyshire for him. So now I at least have a plausible hint of somewhere to look strengthened by a moderate DNA hint. By the way the number of connections is probably due to the fact that my biological family were all converts to the Mormon church and so many of them have had tests done. But many others are like me, just 4th to 6th cousins with a DNA connection but no religious connection – like the woman in Lancashire. I guess DNA testing can help if enough relatives are also tested. Sent from Mail for Windows 10
Well done you Yes its largely based on others having to do their own dna Without that connection it can only give a vague idea of an area or more you may have come from Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK) On 30/05/2018 15:52, Caren Wilcox wrote: > I am prompted by your nudge, Nivard, to communicate some more about my Robinson search.
