Good day, Many thanks to each of the DFHS members who responded to my query regarding the names on the Quarndon War Memorial. Your thoughtfulness, both in your messages and in actually making a trip to St. Paul's church and photographing the site, is greatly appreciated. Since the Quarndon memorial is such an exemplary form of commemoration, one might hope that a pictorial record of the plaque, as well as an account of its preparation and installation, will appear presently in the DFHS journal. Aside from my personal interest in one of the servicemen named on the memorial, the relatively new plaque is itself a model of community commemoration. For those who have moved away from Quarndon and whose descendants can now be found all over the world as well as for those who regularly pass by the memorial, the family names on the commemorative plaque, now newly inscribed on stainless steel, continue to perpetuate the memory of those who gave of themselves for our sake. It's good to know that the Quarndon community remembers them so well. John Ashworth, North Vancouver, B.C.
