Thanks Mike, I think Benjamin STURGESS is one of mine (or rather my husband's). The surname is sometimes STURGESS, sometimes STURGES with or without the German type double s - s set. I'm not sure where he fits yet but not on the direct line, I think. There were Benjamins in every generation. Earliest was the Benjamin married in Repton in 1733 with children baptised in Ticknall and Newton Solney. Does this ring any bells with anyone?
