I note there are four entries - three of which are for the christening of William England, NOT the birthdate, two of which give 22 Dec 1717 and one which gives 9 Jan 1717. The entries are what are now called "Community contributed" ones, in other words what we used to call patron submissions and NOT from officially indexed entries in the parish register. You should be aware that these entries, made by members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, are unreliable and need checking. You should also ask yourself how you can be sure that the William England supposedly born in 1717 was the same man who married Sarah Bugg in 1740. IF it was the right man, then the IGI says the father was John England. Very often in those times mothers weren't recorded at all, since they weren't thought to be important! I'm sorry to put doubt in your mind but you cannot accept what a community-contributed entry in the IGI says without checking with the original registers. -- Roy Stockdill Genealogical researcher, writer & lecturer Famous family trees blog: http://blog.findmypast.co.uk/tag/roy-stockdill/ "There is only one thing in the world worse than being talked about, and that is not being talked about."
