I have map locations and know it was demolished in 1966 but cant find a photo. I want to take some visiting cousins to show them the location and perhaps a picture too??? My ancestor Jeremiah RATCLIFFE was a preacher there and ran a Drapery on Market Place too. He gave his address as Field Head too which seems to be that area of Belper around Penn St and Chesterfield Rd. He was also known locally as a 'passive-resister' and got himself in the papers quite alot! > > Any help gratefully received! > > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to DERBYSGEN-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message

You might check out "The Archive Photographs Series" of books of historic photographs (in B&W) on various areas…I am not familiar enough with them to point you to a specific book, or know whether any would contain a photograph of the defunct church, but it's worth a/fun to look. The two Chesterfield books in The Archive Series (which I own) were compiled by Roy Thompson. Book 1 "Chesterfield" contains early photographs. ISBN: 0 7524 0014 2 Book 2 "Chesterfield" contains photo's of the area dated 1945-1995. ISBN: 0 7524 0364 8 (I get no remuneration, etc., for mentioning them and this is not intended to be an ad.) You might try trolling the National Archives, not sure if it would be helpful: http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/records/looking-for-subject/photographs.htm Good Luck! --WendyE
