    3. Hi Andy I located the marriage in the Peak Forest Chapel in Familysearch. Peak Forest Chapel is a peculiar and was not subject to or diregarded the marriage act, and therefore people came from all over to get married. A local Gretna Green! I sent for the Photocopy. It gave me:- Jacob Hadfield & Hannah Oxley Dec er ye 18th Underneath the name of Hannah Oxley it said Stockport The page was ruled for the date, all the months seemed to be abreviated, and it did not state where Jacob Hadfield came from. Most of the Brides birthplaces seemed to be listed, and fewer of the Grooms Some of the areas were Yorkshire,Youlgreave, Leek, Sheffield, Stockport,Glossop, Youlgreave again in just the eight records that were on my phootcopy. this was part of a page for the year of 1750. I have had a previous case of a marriage in 1738 William Gould and Ellen Bagot - where he was of Elkstone Alstonfield, Staffs and she of Idridgehay, Derbyshire. That one had taken a long time to find, and when I did find it I wondered how those two could have met...until I looked at a map and saw both had direct roads, well almost, to Ashbourne - an active market andbarracks town. The photocopy did not cost me. Hope this is helpful Hilary
