    3. Morning all I have been working with a small team of volunteers at Lea Mills to prepare a suitable memorial to the men who worked there and who served in WWI. Like Topsy this project has mushroomed but it has been an exciting and rewarding experience unearthing "unseen" records, letters, photographs etc. As part of this project I have created a website of much of our findings. But before I make the site "live" I would love to hear from anyone who had relatives working at the Mill who may have more information for me to include. Some of the men are still very sketchy, others wonderfully detailed. I just know that errors will have occurred and wish to keep these to a minimum. As well as the story of the men it also include the story of the Mill, its employees and the local community at this time. So, anyone who has any information will make me a happy chappy. Written in wonderfully hot weather, in shorts, despite family protest that the local wildlife may be panicked at such a sight. Peter

    3. Hello Peter, If you click on http://www.wirksworth.org.uk/MENU.htm#search and enter the words "Lea Mills" in the search box, you will be presented with 289 mentions of Lea Mills in the Wirksworth website. If you have the time to trawl through these (in your panicky shorts under a boiling sun) you may come up with some connections that you don't yet know about.
